PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS

inlaid and gilt wood

This type of armchair resembles similar French pieces of furniture – in the style of Louis XV – dating back to the late 17th century and early 18th century. The slightly reclined and molded backrest is sustained by legs in the shape of an inverted obelisk, joined by two crossed crosspieces. The armrests are characterized by an arcuate shape and the legs are embellished with carvings. The seat and the legs are upholstered and covered with damask fabric.
