ornabuoni Arte expands its well-established expertise in the art market — already renowned through its galleries dedicated to modern and contemporary art — into the refined world of antique paintings, sculptures, and furnishings, spanning from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.

The gallery’s main venue is located on the ground floor of Palazzo Giovanni, a prestigious 14th-century building on Via Maggio, in the heart of Florence and just a short walk from Palazzo Pitti. Since 2024, the gallery has further expanded its exhibition spaces with the inauguration of a new venue inside the historic Palazzo di Bianca Cappello.

The collection, extensive and carefully curated, places particular emphasis on the great masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It also includes precious 14th- and 15th-century gold-ground paintings (“fondi oro”), displayed in a dedicated room that evokes the evocative atmosphere of medieval churches.

Each work on display undergoes thorough scholarly research to ensure its authenticity, attribution, dating, and provenance.

The results of these studies, conducted by qualified specialists across various fields of art history, are published annually in a richly illustrated bilingual catalogue in Italian and English, featuring images, technical details, and in-depth scholarly descriptions for each artwork.

The gallery staff is fully available to guide clients through the exhibition spaces, offering expert and attentive assistance, personalized consultations, acquisition support, and interior design advice.
