MADONNA WITH CHILD
Sculpted wood, traces of polychromy.
Described by a spiral movement typical of late Mannerism, this wooden Madonna is portrayed while observing with tenderness the Child grasping her dress. The sculpture appears to be vaguely inspired by the work of Jacopo Sansovino (Florence 1486-Venice 1570), between the protagonists of Art in the Veneto in the course of the 16th century.
