ornabuoni Arte – Arte Antica extends its established presence in the art market – already solidified through its galleries specializing in modern and contemporary art – to the world of Old Masters paintings, sculptures, and antique furniture from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.
The main gallery is located on the ground floor of Palazzo Giovanni, a prestigious 14th-century building on Via Maggio, in the heart of Florence and adjacent to Pitti Palace. Since 2024, a new exhibition space has been inaugurated within the historic Palazzo of Bianca Cappello, further expanding the gallery’s display area.
The collection, vast and meticulously curated, focusses predominantly on the masters of the Renaissance and Baroque; it also includes evocative ‘Gold Grounds’ from the 14th and 15th centuries, which are displayed in a dedicated room that evokes the atmosphere of magnificent medieval churches.
Each artwork on display has undergone rigorous scholarly analysis to ensure its authenticity, establish its dating, and ascertain its provenance.
The research results, conducted by competent specialists in the various sectors, are published every year in an illustrated catalog in Italian and English, which combines the photo of the object with the technical specifications and an exhaustive scientific description.
The gallery’s staff is readily available to assist clients, providing expert guidance and meticulous attention as they navigate the various room, offering tailored consultations and interior design recommendations.
