FLORENTINE MIRROR

carved and gilt wood

This large oval mirror, with frame characterized by a rich carving featuring scrolls and phytomorphic and zoomorphic elements – as the wings on the sides and the mascaron with open jaws above – is an excellent example of the fantasy, ability and decorative taste of Florentine craftsmen in the late Baroque period.
