Siena, seconda metà del XVI secolo

m228

Monumental sideboard

walnut wood

The architectural design of this imposing piece of furniture is strongly characterised by the geometric structure marked out musically by the alternating frames, doors and sides. The refined construction quality and the skilled use of walnut make this sideboard an important example of Tuscan Renaissance cabinetmaking. The internal structure of this piece of furniture, made entire of poplar, clearly demonstrates its Sienese origin.
