TWO TORCH HOLDERS

gilded wood

Two finely carved Tuscan giltwood torch holders. The trilobate base, supported by onion-shaped feet, is richly decorated with leaves, curls and palmette motifs. At the center of each side sits a decoration resembling a coat of arms, framing a motif decorated with pearls. The main body is turned in the balaustro style and decorated with a wealth of various motifs of acanthus leaves and pods.

From the base up, the first order is decorated with festoons that end in a large smooth roundel.
