CONSOLE LOUIS XVI
carved and sculpted wood, varnished and partially gilt; top in peach flower Carnic marble
This console, typical of the Roman Louis XVI style, is characterized by the strip below the top, which is elegantly decorated by pairs of festoons alternated by cow skull motifs in the classical style. The tapered legs have spiralling furrows and double capital junctions, and terminate in a cluster of leaves.
