SUITE OF EIGHT CHAIRS
Mahogany wood with gold decorations, leather upholstery
An elegant suite of eight solid mahogany chairs, dating from the late 19th century. The flowing lines are emphasized by the gentle incline of the backrests and seats. The chairs rest on front so-called “hock” legs, which accentuate the sinuosity of the forms, while the rear legs are shaped like sabers. The upper part of the backrest is embellished with a double inlaid brass frame, enclosing a refined floral inlay. The concentric frame decoration is repeated between the backrest and seat, as well as in the band below the seat.
