PAIR OF TORCH HOLDERS
partially gilt carved wood
These elaborate, spiral-form Baroque torchères build to a crescendo of swirls and phytomorphic elements. The torchères are of remarkable workmanship and a rare design, culminating in two youthful figures each holding a staff topped by a bobeche. Stylistically similar to works made by the circle of Bernini.
