PAIR OF CONSOLES SHAPED LIKE CRESCENT MOONS
yellow marble top
Elegant pair of Louis XVI style demi-lune consoles of the Neapolitan school, datable to around the second half of the 18th century.
The canted top is made of yellow Breccia marble, while the band of the underside is finely decorated with intertwined vine motifs culminating in a central medallion.
Characterized by an inverted truncated cone shape, the four legs are very simple and adorned with a vine-shoot that entirely wraps around them. The attachment to the under-top band is a dado, embellished in the center with a small round medallion.
