EAGLE SHAPED MONUMENTAL READING STAND

This type of zoomorphic reading stand was very diffused in the French-speaking Flemish area since the Fourteenth century. The haughty position of the bird is underscored by the outstretched wings, that carry the shaped metal shelf in order to support the book.
