Veneto, first half of the 19th century

m217

DESK

inlaid wood

This desk in the style of Louis Philippe stands out thanks to the numerous inlays covering the whole surface, the sides, the drawers and the desk doors. Rectangular mahogany motifs embellish the three central drawers and the two S-shaped desk doors in pure Louis Philippe style.

A briar-root veneer decorates the rectangular desk top, while the lower drawers are enriched with a herringbone pattern. The drawers have original brass handles and the legs are characterized by a sabre-shape. Since the desk is finely crafted on all its four sides, this piece of furniture can be easily placed in the center of a room.
