CONSOLE TABLE
gilded, carved and sculpted wood, wooden top in faux marble painted wood
Transitional Louis XIV-XV wall-mounted console table, with two slightly curved legs that are richly carved and decorated with female protomes, culminating in majestic lion’s paws. The legs are joined by a central stretcher with a curled leaf pattern, characteristic of this style. The central portion, beneath the faux-marble top in shapes of green, runs from the heads of the two female figures with two large leafy elements ending in a large rosette finely decorated with floral motifs.
