CHEST OF DRAWERS

walnut wood with decorative bands in briar

This refined Umbrian chest of drawers, crafted from walnut wood with burl veneer, evokes the style of the late Renaissance.

It features three spacious drawers defined by moulded frames, and a hidden top drawer separated from the others by a band moulding. Each drawer is fitted with two curved handles and a central lock with a shield-shaped escutcheon.

The rectangular top is strongly projecting with a moulded edge, while the sides of the chest are adorned with geometric panels.

The base of the chest of drawers has a protruding moulding and bracket feet embellished with a pleasing scroll motif.

This robust and functional piece of furniture is a classic example of furnishing intended for a prestigious setting, such as a master bedroom or a drawing-room.
