{"id":3046,"date":"2019-09-13T16:01:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-13T16:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/antico.tornabuoniarte.it\/collezioni\/table-cross-in-pietre-dure\/"},"modified":"2023-10-03T08:55:52","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T08:55:52","slug":"table-cross-in-pietre-dure","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/antico.tornabuoniarte.it\/en\/collections\/table-cross-in-pietre-dure\/","title":{"rendered":"Table cross"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\">TABLE CROSS<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\">ebony wood, semiprecious stone inlays with gilded bronze parts<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This important liturgical piece of furniture is decorated with semiprecious stone inlays (\u2018pietra dura\u2019) and consists of a basis of architectural forms, while the central body is gabled and connected to the lower side elements by volutes, on which the actual cross is placed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On it, the crucified Christ is mourned by the Virgin Mary, Saint John the Evangelist and by a couple of angels. All these figures are gilt bronze. Additional inserts further enrich the work, such as a Veronica with the effigy of God, the dove of the Holy Spirit and old-fashioned lion heads.
