Bologna, 17th century; later additions

SIDEBOARD

 Walnut wood

This imposing furniture item is organized in two superimposed volumes that are separated by richly carved framed and a projecting frame. The doors vaunt elaborate central decorations that seem to indicate a Bolognese provenance. The decoration in antique material, which distinguishes this furniture piece and makes it unique, is quite unusual; if features extraneous elements as the caryatids on the panels next to the doors of the upper part, or the figures of soldiers with lances and shields in the lower.
